Yes, Jaapi integrates with Deel. A scheduled sync of your active workforce keeps the swag store’s user list current and lets Deel attributes drive credit — welcome budgets for new joiners, anniversary gifts, different amounts per team or country. It’s hard to imagine a better-matched pairing: Deel’s customers hire across borders by design, and Jaapi produces swag in the recipient’s own region, so the team you hired globally gets swag delivered domestically.

How does the Deel integration work?

Deel has the most developer-friendly setup of the HRIS platforms we integrate with: your admin creates an API token in Deel’s Developer Center, scoped to read-only people access. A small scheduled job calls Deel’s people endpoint — filtered to active workers — and forwards the list to Jaapi’s sync endpoint, authenticated with a Bearer token from your store settings. Jaapi reconciles the list against the store’s users on every run.

The forwarding job is a few lines in whatever your team already uses to schedule things (a cron job, Make, Power Automate). We set it up together during onboarding and provide a working script to start from. Deel’s Analytics reports with scheduled email delivery work as an alternative feed if you’d rather not touch the API at all.

What does the Deel sync automate?

One daily reconciliation covers three workflows:

  • Onboarding. Anyone active in Deel without a store account gets one, with any new-hire credit allocated on their first day rather than in week three.
  • Offboarding. Anyone no longer active is deactivated, and their unspent credit returns to the company wallet.
  • Credit distribution. Deel attributes drive the rules — a welcome budget on hire, a monthly allowance per team, country-aware amounts where swag costs differ.

One thing Deel does better than most: its people API returns your whole workforce in one feed — EOR employees, direct employees, and contractors, each labeled by hiring type and country. If your swag policy includes contractors (most remote-first companies’ do), there’s no second list to merge.

How do I set up the Deel integration?

  1. In Deel, go to the Developer Center and generate an API token with read-only people scope (requires an org admin or IT developer admin role).
  2. In your Jaapi store, go to Settings and generate a sync API token.
  3. We map the fields, agree the credit rules and a first-run plan with you, and help schedule the delivery job.

Most teams are live within a working week.

Deel or SCIM — which should I use?

If Deel already feeds your identity provider (Deel’s SCIM integrations with Okta and Entra ID are built for exactly that), you can provision store accounts through the IdP instead — see our Okta and Entra ID guides. Use the direct Deel sync when there’s no IdP in the chain, or when HR data should also drive credit and gifting — SCIM carries identity, not hire dates, teams, or hiring types. Is the Deel integration secure?

Yes. The Deel token is scoped to read-only people access and stays on your side; requests to Jaapi use a store-scoped Bearer token over HTTPS; new accounts are validated against your allowed email domain; and every sync run is audit-logged. Both companies publish their certifications: Deel and Jaapi AB are each ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, and Jaapi hosts all data in the EU.
